HEALTH, SAFETY & WELLBEING

At Statom we are continuously reviewing and improving our health and safety practices. We conduct thorough audits and invest in rigorous consultation and training with industry experts, as well as adopting new technology whenever possible. Safety is at the heart of all we do and is evidenced through this approach and also our many accreditations, such as ISO 45001.

On this page we share some of the details around our extensive health and safety programme.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

"The Statom Safety Department has recently expanded with the addition of Theo Prinsloo to our team. With his extensive experience in the construction industry, Theo brings valuable expertise. This growth enables our safety team to have a stronger on-site presence, providing increased support for our staff and site teams.

We are proud of our comprehensive internal training program, which is progressing at full speed. It ensures that our teams receive the best available training, tailored to our specific needs, and offers bespoke solutions.

Fieldview has now been integrated into Statom's management system across 90% of our sites, working in conjunction with our ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 certification. This integration enhances security for both Statom and our client's throughout and after the construction process.

The future looks promising as our client base and job portfolio continue to expand. With this growth comes challenges, but I have full confidence in the capability, resources, and experience of our safety department to not only embrace these challenges but also excel in overcoming them."

BEHAVIOURAL SAFETY

Statom has a strong behavioural safety programme. This concentrates on the long term sustainable behavioural shifts that support the safest possible culture on all projects, across all departments, both on and off site. We will continue to improve the safety culture within group by training all staff on how to be technically safe as well as displaying the right attitude to ensure safe practices are constantly displayed.

MENTAL HEALTH

"Mental ill health is a serious issue in the Construction industry and, at Statom we understand the importance of a healthy mind. We have deployed a number of initiatives to help our workforce feel supported and address any challenges they may be facing.

We are proud to have Mental Health First Aiders across the business, who have been conducting talks across all our sites and ensuring all staff members know what support is available to them."
