Last week, Statom Group proudly hosted an Apprentice Welcome Event at our London Bridge headquarters, marking the start of an exciting new chapter for our latest intake of apprentices. The event brought together new apprentices, current apprentices further along their journey, and senior graduates from across the business, creating a welcoming space for learning, sharing, and inspiration.
The morning began with introductions and an overview of Statom Group, giving new starters a chance to understand the scale of opportunities available within our business. With apprentices joining us across multiple divisions — from civil engineering and groundworks through to electrical services and specialist areas — the event highlighted the variety of pathways available within our industry and within Statom itself.
A key part of the session involved current apprentices and graduates sharing their own experiences, giving new starters an honest, first-hand look at what it’s like to begin and grow a career in construction. From balancing on-site learning with classroom study, to adapting to the fast-paced nature of projects, the insights offered by their peers were invaluable.
We believe that apprenticeships play a vital role in shaping the future of the construction industry. With the demand for skilled professionals growing every year, it is crucial that businesses like ours continue to nurture talent, provide real opportunities, and encourage young people to see construction as a career that offers growth, stability, and variety.
