As the environmental impact of construction comes under closer scrutiny, Statom Group is taking a leading role with a £4 million investment in 48 fuel-efficient Kobelco excavators, supplied in partnership with Molson Group.
Renowned for their fuel efficiency and powerful performance, the Kobelco excavators will ensure Statom continues to deliver projects to the highest quality while reducing carbon emissions. The fleet includes mini excavators, conventional and compact radius models. The SK30SR-6E and SK50SRX-7 will provide full-size performance in compact environments, while the SR Series models, including the SK85MSR-7 and SK140SRLC-7, combine power, speed and design for uncompromised operations. The SK210LC-11E further strengthens Statom’s ability to deliver on the heaviest site tasks.

With some models offering up to a 20% reduction in fuel consumption compared to previous generations, without any loss of power, the investment will help Statom both cut operating costs and achieve its carbon reduction goals.
Mark Albon, Plant Director at Statom Group, said:
“Particularly on larger projects, clients are focusing closely on their environmental impact. To meet these needs, as well as our own sustainability goals, we do not just take steps to protect nature and prevent pollution on-site. We also work with partners like Molson who have the equipment and aftersales expertise to support both our sustainability and operational goals.”
Billy Lee, Sales Manager at Molson Equipment, commented:
“Statom’s reputation and high standards mean they continue to grow and serve the most demanding clients, even in difficult market conditions. Our shared values of sustainability and quality service have set the foundation for a strong long-term relationship.”
By combining a forward-looking plant strategy with the right partnerships, Statom is ensuring its teams are equipped with the most efficient, sustainable and reliable machinery to deliver complex projects safely and successfully.
