We continue our demolition works at the Acton Gardens redevelopment with the first phase of Acton 8.1. The Acton 8.1 scope is to demolish two 6 storey residential blocks, remove the substructure, crush all the demolition arisings which will then be used to form the pile matts on phase 2.
We have completed the first phase, carrying out the full soft and asbestos removal of the Carisbrook block which then allowed Demoforce to demolish the 6-storey block with a high reach excavator. Scaffold was erected to 3 elevations of the Carisbrooke block prior to the structural demolition commencing as an additional measure to control the dust alongside the dust suppression pumps setup on site to control the dust from the neighbouring properties. The substructure has been removed and all arisings crushed onsite ready to return for phase 2.
