Works are progressing at the former Gasworks site on the outskirts of Hemel Hempstead, where we are delivering a complex remediation and enabling works package on behalf of Berkeley St William.

Our scope of works includes the removal of historic gas holder infrastructure, remediation of five contaminated hotspot areas, treatment of perched groundwater, and the installation of clean service corridors across the 3.73-hectare site. The project also incorporates significant earthworks operations, the construction of 11 pile mats, and the demolition of an existing metal footbridge.

The three-phase programme is preparing the site for the future development of 11 high-density residential blocks and is scheduled for completion in October. This project demonstrates our capability to deliver large-scale remediation and enabling works on challenging brownfield sites, ensuring they are safely and efficiently prepared for redevelopment.
